The equipment covered by this specification shall be an airborne search radar. The primary objective is to detect submarine periscopes within five seconds after exposure and to provide this detection capability under severe sea conditions to ranges of at least 20 n. miles. Additional requirements include performing the functions of submarine snorkel detection, surface plotting, radar navigation and station keeping.
